The Royal Court

Membership in the Royal Court is determined by the number of points a member earns in a calander year as outlined below and that are verified by the Board of Directors. Each participant is required to be a member, patron or sponsor in good standing of "The Mystic Krewe of The Kingdom of Lamuria" association. These honorary titles have no voting privileges beyond that of a regular membership. The titles and responsibilities of each class are described below.

King & Queen: The Honorary King and Queen are elected each year to preside over the "Kingdom of Lamuria" Mardi Gras Madness Coronation Ball, Knightings of nobles, and other special events. To be eligible they must be a member, patron or sponsor in good standing in the organization and must be a minimum of 30 years of age. They are encouraged to participate in other community events representing the Royal Court and association including annual parades or other festivals in the area. They may only reign for a one-year term. Each King and Queen will receive recognition and title for their service to the organization in the form of a Crown and plaque of which they may keep and of which is presented to them at the yearly Coronation Ball. They are to be addressed as, "Your Royal Majesty" when encountering another member of the Royal Court.

Royal Princess and Royal Prince: The elected Princess and Prince Royal are the heirs apparent to the throne and as such are elected each year to preside along with the King & Queen at the "Kingdom of Lamuria" Mardi Gras Madness Coronation Ball, Knightings of nobles, and other special events. This election is to be determined by a vote of the board of Directors. To be eligible they must be a member, patron or sponsor in good standing in the organization and must be a minimum of 16 years of age and a maximum of 26 years of age. They are encouraged to participate in other community events representing the Royal Court and association including annual parades or festivals in the area. They may only reign for a one-year term. They are elected by way of majority vote of the Court and its patrons. Their title is that of, Your Royal Highness and so they should be addressed as such. Those elected will receive a scholarship to aid in their continued education in the fields of Music, Art, History or Humanities at an accredited College or University.

Princess or Prince of the Realm: The Princess or Prince of the Realm is an honorary title grated to those who, by election, are appointed as nobles of the realm. Their duty is to maintain the ideas of Chivalry and Chastity while promoting a positive image of the court. They will be responsible to serve the King, Queen, Royal Princess and Royal Prince as courtiers and attendants. It is from this group that the Royal Princess and Royal Prince are selected. Each member of this group should maintain a positive image in the community and have a strong scholastic background.

Lords, Ladies, Squires, & Pages: The remainder of the Royal Court is made up of dedicated individuals who show a strong support for the organization and who by their deeds have shown themselves to be of Noble stature. Their duty is to maintain the ideas of Chivalry and Chastity while promoting a positive image of the court. They will be responsible to serve the King, Queen, Royal Princess, Royal Prince, and Princess's or Prince's of the Realm as courtiers and attendants. Each member of this group should maintain a positive image in the community and be willing to provide a commitment to community service and organizational growth.

Becoming a Noble in the Mystic Krewe of the Kingdom of Lamuria

For an individual to become a noble of the realm, of the Kingdom of Lamuria, and to move up through the ranks of nobility each participant earns points based solely on their participation. For each task that you complete you are awarded a number of points, outlined below, which are carried each year on a cumulative basis. The total point value earned that year determines or maintains your rank. Once you achieve a specific rank you cannot be reduced to a lower rank unless you fail to maintain a minimum participation in the groups activities, or the group as a whole votes for your reduction and or expulsion due to disruptive or non chivalrous behavior.

Points Available

1 point:

Become an initiate, Serve on a committee,

Participate in an MKKL event,

Make a level one donation of cash or goods,

Sell a level one ad or sponsorship,

Sell a ticket to a MKKL event.

3 points:

Become a board member, Head a committee, Serve as an officer,

Perform at a MKKL function, Sell a level two ad or sponsorship,

Host a MKKL party, Make a level two donation of cash or goods.

5points:

Serve as President or Chairman of the Board, Act as an event chairman,

Sell a level three ad or sponsorship or above, Make a level three

or above donation of cash or goods.

Ranks of Nobility

1 point earned automatically for becoming an initiate

2-10 points Esquire or Lady in Waiting

11-25 points Knight or Lady of the Realm

26-50 points Baron or Baroness

51-75 Count or Countess

76-100 Duke or Duchess

101-150 Prince or Princess

151 or above Eligible to be Sovereign King or Queen
